A layover is inventory that expires unsold
Every year, hundreds of millions of hours are spent in transit halls by people who had somewhere they could have been. The hours are not missing — they are unpriced. Nobody tells a traveller how much of a nine-hour connection is actually theirs, so the safe answer is to spend all of it airside, and everyone loses: the traveller loses the day, the airport loses the spend, the city loses the visitor, and the carrier loses a reason to be chosen.
What we are building
A system that says how many hours of a connection are genuinely usable, and whether leaving the airport is worth it. That is one calculation, and it has to survive being wrong in public: immigration queues, transit that runs late, minimum connection times, the buffer you need to get back. We would rather tell somebody to stay in the terminal than be the reason they miss a flight.
Who it is for
The traveller deciding at a gate. The airline that wants a connection to be a feature rather than a cost. The airport with landside revenue it cannot reach. The city with a visitor for eight hours who never leaves the terminal. It is one calculation serving four readers, and the return buffer is what makes it credible to all four at once — nobody promotes a stopover that makes people miss flights.
What we will not do
We take no commission on an airline ticket, and that is a rule rather than a stage. It is what makes the recommendation trustworthy: the answer cannot move with where you book. The Roll Pass is never for sale — status is earned by travelling and never bought, and the credential is funded by the operator, never the passenger. And a number we did not measure is marked as one we did not measure, rather than filled in with something plausible.
Where we are
Not open yet. Atlanta is the first city and 2027 is the year, because it is where connections already happen at enormous scale and where the city window is the whole product — no US carrier runs a stopover programme to lean on. Everything on this site is either built and being tested, or described in the future tense on purpose.
